Co-founder & Full-Stack Engineer

Deepak Mardi

Deepak Mardi is co-founder and a full-stack engineer at Pruning Labs, the Kolkata-based software engineering studio, and a graduate of IIT Kharagpur, working front-end heavy and owning interface architecture across the studio's work: the operator consoles, exception queues, and customer-facing surfaces, along with the accessibility and Core Web Vitals budgets they are held to.

A graduate of IIT Kharagpur, Deepak co-founded Pruning Labs and builds the part of every system people actually touch. In the studio's work that is rarely a marketing page - it is the operator console where an exception queue gets worked, the dashboard a supervising clinician reads, the internal tool that replaces a spreadsheet.

Those interfaces have a harder brief than most front-end work. They are used all day by people who know the domain better than we do, under time pressure, sometimes on bad connections or shop-floor hardware. Density matters more than polish, keyboard paths matter more than animation, and an interface that hides state is worse than one that looks plain.

Deepak also owns the performance budgets. Every content page on this site is server-rendered with effectively no client JavaScript because that line gets held on every review.
