Three founders. No layer in between.
Pruning Labs was founded by three engineers (IIT Kharagpur & IIT Guwahati alumni) who architect and write every system: Manish Meena, principal engineer, who owns technical architecture; Deepak Mardi, full-stack engineer, who builds the interfaces and holds the performance budgets; and Shubham Choudhary, head of growth, who runs discovery and scoping. Clients talk directly to the people building their software from the first call through handover.
Manish Meena
Co-founder & Principal Engineer - Manish Meena is co-founder and principal engineer at Pruning Labs, Kolkata, designing the AI systems, durable workflow automation, and edge architecture the studio ships, and writing its engineering notes.
Deepak Mardi
Co-founder & Full-Stack Engineer - Deepak Mardi is co-founder and full-stack engineer at Pruning Labs, Kolkata, building the interfaces the studio ships - front-end architecture, operator consoles, and the performance budgets that keep them fast.
Shubham Choudhary
Co-founder & Head of Growth - Shubham Choudhary is co-founder and head of growth at Pruning Labs, Kolkata, running scoping, client engagement, and the commercial side of the studio's AI and software work.
Why it is set up this way
Most agencies put an account manager between the client and the engineers. It scales headcount and it loses information - every constraint gets paraphrased twice before it reaches the person who has to design around it.
We took the other trade: fewer projects at a time, and the people who scope the work are the people who write it. That is why start dates are real dates and why we turn work down. More on that in how the studio is set up.
